a brief overview of the courses:

Kurzy Kreativní improvizace představují an innovative and easily applicable form of teaching any instrument. They represent a remarkably effective means that can multiply the child’s motivation to work on their instrument, a great aid in addressing the issue of stage fright , and generally considerably improve the effectivity of the working process.

The essence of Creative Improvisation is methodical and elaborate leadership in the field known as directed improvisation , and also a gradually accruing set of knowledge and skills relating to the fundamental principles of musical creation. Popular knowledge of these disciplines is usually highly distorted. We believe that these are not highly specialised activities pertaining only to a handful of exceptional individuals – just the opposite. Being creative comes naturally to everyone without exception, wherein improvisation is a unique, straight-forward, and eminently available means of creative activity.

Our experience makes it clear that introducing the principles of Creative Improvisation into instrumental teaching at any level quickly increases the motivation of both students and teachers and a general increase in teaching results. Thanks to extensive feedback, we can unequivocally confirm the profound import of this method.

The courses can culminate in a final improvised concert, at which Daniel Skála will demonstrate the possibilities of directed improvisation in a professional concert format.
